Jul 31, 2009 - Haha, good to hear. Yeah, over-consumption of anything is never good...even too much water can cause hyper-hydration and kill you. But that's my point. It should be your decision to drink alcohol, not the govt's. Same with tobacco, pot, etc. Thanks for the good luck wishes...I'll need them! That exam's a bitch and a half. LOL. Peace.

Jul 31, 2009 - Hmmm... If I'm looking for a doctor... Let's see: I could see a doctor in hospital like Duke, Princeton, UCLA, Emory all within a couple of months of making an appointment - nah I think I'll go to Canada to get my healthcare and put myself on a list of over a year to see a specialist. But at least its "free" - paid for by the 50% Canadian income tax! And BTW, Canadians are the rudest and most egotistical bastards I've ever met since moving to Michigan.

Aug 1, 2009 - I'm in the highest tax bracket in the US and when the Bush tax cuts expire it will be even higher. add to that my local taxes, property taxes and then the sales taxes and my accountant said it is close to 65cents on the $ that already goes up in some sort of tax. Yet they want more and more. By the way, I'm an MD and I work my rear end off. If this goes through it will mean the end of health care in the US and people just don't get it....yet, but they will when it's too late.

Aug 1, 2009 - do you know of any? i know 1 canadian who lives in the states, he loves everything, the food, the mix of cultures, the hypocrisy, the restaurants, shopping centers, how americans boast about shooting anyone who walks in their house uninvited... i mean everything...he says canada is dull, and the U.S. is like a big fun playground.... yet he hates the healthcare system...
pelu1331 Says:
Aug 1, 2009 - this guy is so wrong it's not even funny. he says that there is no evidence that socialized medicine is beneficial. every single developed nation that has implemented this health care system has longer life expectancy rates. that means they prevent, find and treat conditions that lead to their population dying better. people in Bosnia and Herzegovina live longer than people in the states... they may not have a plasma in their living room, but they have better health care! it's embarrasing..

pelu1331 Says:
Aug 1, 2009 - "that means they prevent, find and treat conditions that lead to their population dying better" i meant living better lives. sorry bout that. republicans stance that private entrerprise will always do things better than gov't is correct for certain industries. but with health care, history has proven that allowing these companies to operate on margins and profits has proven ineffective.
pelu1331 Says:
Aug 1, 2009 - the cost-reducing approach has not worked, and we need to do something before america becomes one big, fat, sick wasteland. in terms of foreign policy: the cold war is over. humans have to focus their views on sustainability of the planet, not on dominance. whether we like it or not everyone has to work together to ensure the long-term survival of humans as a species. humans are sucking the life out of the planet and we have the intelligence to figure out a way to stop it. later!
MrSuperpunch019 Says:
Aug 1, 2009 - no, youll have a economic collapse
pelu1331 Says:
Aug 1, 2009 - according to economic models and theories in place. right now economic principles are bound by supply vs. demand, while these principles have been proven to be true, they are incomplete, they do not take into account the damage done by increasing supply to meet demand. humans have developed highly complex mathematical models to explain nearly every phenomena we have observed. it is wrong to think that humans lack the ability to figure this problem out.

Aug 2, 2009 - That doesn't mean we have to ignore the laws that were written by people who created a free country. If the laws no longer apply, we should change them, not ignore them. The world is not as different as some people would like to think. Our mindsets, and willingness to stand up for righteousness, however, are much more different than this land mass. Ron Paul is one who still does, and he inspires others to do the same.
TheFathersAdvocate Says:

TheFathersAdvocate Says:
Aug 2, 2009 - It's going to crash anyway. Might as well come out of it with sound money and less government control.
pelu1331 Says:
Aug 2, 2009 - the government should represent the will of the people. america assumes that markets which reflect economic demands are the will of the people, while this is true for certain industries, the government has been flooded with majority shareholders in corporations that have been using the gov't to help their particular industry succeed, even if the people suffer. a perfect example is big tobacco.

Jul 31, 2009 - LOL, I use to smoke the herb to. Didn't stop me from getting my CDL. Though I must admit, never could figure out what I wanted out of college, however I'm a natural with MS Office and can catch on to any computer software over time. As far as alcohol, I agree over consumption is never good, but I'm a big believer in a glass of wine or strong pint of micro brew every now and then. Good luck on the CPA exam.
