Jul 27, 2009 - Hokies: Okay you win.

HokiesAndDawgs Says:

Jul 27, 2009 - So......you are serious about the fact that you'd much rather have a nationalized system as opposed to private? BTW - You realize Obama's plan would instantly give 12 million illegal aliens healthcare? How would that help our country?

wspol624 Says:

Jul 27, 2009 - Hokies - Our healthcare plan is provincial, not federal. Feds set standards & fund provincial health plans directly from taxes. It's a different payment scheme, that's all. Yes I am serious about having "nationalized" system, as you (incorrectly) state. Drs here are still private practicioners. I don't care what Obama or any US pres. does or how US determines its domestic policies, none of my business, don't have a vote there. I am simply trying to correct misconceptions about our system.

karlsantos Says:

Aug 1, 2009 - How do you lok at this economy and say Obama did it? This whole mess started in 1998 and got worse in 2002. It will take a lot of effort for more than 8 years to get it back on track. The problem is greed. Unlimited and legally unrestricted greed. The economy is still not dead, but if things were left as they were in 2 years only the owners of the Republican party (and half the Democratic at least) wouldn't be living in cardboard boxes.

ajack50 Says:

Aug 3, 2009 - odumba has made alot of this mess with his idiotic stimulus and how is that working not one job created or saved unemployment out of control and now odumbacare at 1.5 trillion, for what so we can cover illigal aliens? destroy the greatest healthcare in the world its all part of the socialist odumba plan, make everyone equally poor and dependant on government . tear down whitey and take over as in nazi germany,

ajack50 Says:

Aug 3, 2009 - odumba is running out of countries to appoligize to and now must put his plan into action, dumb down the sheeple take over all aspects of your lives from birth to death, the elderly are at risk because with socialism they are worthless and not contributing so why keep them alive. the libs have a plan to make all equal and dependant on gov. for everything. but first you create massive unemployment, take control of lives and then you can lead the sheeple wherever you want. wake up odumba socialism

ragincaucasian319 Says:

Aug 5, 2009 - Lets say youre running a business... Are you really going to spend money on a health care plan for your employees when the government has a free plan? Employers drop their insurance plans and employees are FORCED to the governments plan. Health care insurers also have the petty little problem of making a profit. The government has bottomless pockets so to call the government health care "competition" isnt really a true statement.

djwaglmuffin Says:

Aug 14, 2009 - Thats the last thing I expected the chairman of the RNC to say...is it too much to ask for our politicians to just...you know...think?

bingramtube Says:

Aug 24, 2009 - in 2008 what percentage of bankruptcies were directly caused by folks paying for health care ? As I remember, it was 20% or more. ....And thats a good health care system ? ...and why do people continue to repeat the lies about what MAY occur. I get socialized medical, 100% paid for by tax payers, administered by the Gov. MY health care is better than my mothers and she is rich...as I look over the commenter's I notice I'm almost the only one with a valid experienced viewpoint.

darmokandgalad Says:

Aug 25, 2009 - I hate when commentators like Cenk and Keith Olbermann and Maddow paint the conservative v. liberal arguments in this country as though they were actually that. In reality, there are the Republicans, who are 100% married to their corporations because they're bribed to be. Then there are Democrats, who are maybe 30% married to their corporations. There is no ideological debate going on here. It's just people who make a buck by raping this country versus those who want to make it better.

facturaDan Says:

Aug 26, 2009 - Cenk, I wish you had also brought up that this party is the same one that supported warrantless wiretapping of the conversations of US citizens! Talk about Big Brother intruding into our lives!

RegulateAndEducate Says:

Sep 4, 2009 - where is the money gonna come from? oh sure taxpayers great idea our government is trilions in debt now lets make it trillions moreto reform a health care. Hey sop taxing the fk out of them make the hopitals have some sort of price cut in how much they charge for all everything i mean it 200$ just to go there thats crazy maybe then they could afford to cut our copays and monthly cost if our wonderful Gov didnt tax the shit out of them

RegulateAndEducate Says:

Sep 4, 2009 - They are gonna force us into this plan dont matter my man its all in there fked up plan for the one world government they wanna control every aspect of our lives. Step by Step day by day soon enough everyone will see they might not notice and protestors will be known as terrorist and be killed then steralzing us all if we dont learn not to reproduce oh its not pretty what they want and are doing

bingramtube Says:

Sep 5, 2009 - Fac and Darmo right on and until we get rid of Legal Bribery our votes are useless. What is curious to me is why peeps aren't yelling about it. It's bribery and its legal and humans are frail creatures and actually very easy and cheap to bribe i.e. the Russians bought ton's of secrets for next to nothing.

ragincaucasian319 Says:

Sep 9, 2009 - Youre talking about catastrophic care. Not the overall health care system. If thats your issue with the current system, have the government cover catastrophic care for its citizens... But the government isnt pushing for that are they? They want TOTAL CONTROL of the health care system.

ragincaucasian319 Says:

Sep 12, 2009 - Democrats are "married" to unions, lawyers and campaign contributors... Corporations hire employees and pay a lot in taxes. What do lawyers and unions do? You think its a coincidence that the banks that got bailouts were huge Obama contributors? How about why Obama isnt going after TORT reform? Or why the UAW got a massive sweetheart deal from Obama? Youre right that both sides are raping America but whos voting in these people?

darmokandgalad Says:

Sep 12, 2009 - Why are unions a bad thing? Reps always say that but I never understand, I have a union at my job and its the best job I've ever had. The unions protect the employees from being abused, and we need something like that bc it's not fair for individual employees to have to try to fight an entire corporation should they need to. I don't think Dems are really married to lawyers, so I would need more info on that to comment. No, I don't think it's a coincidence that the banks that were bailed...

darmokandgalad Says:

Sep 12, 2009 - ... out were Obama contributors. They were also contributors to the Reps and Dems who passed the legislation. I think Obama intentionally helped them for money and he should have been impeached for doing so, but he won't bc the people who should have impeached him did the same thing. I don't know why he's not going after tort reform, he does have a lot on his plate right now so I don't hold it against him much.

ragincaucasian319 Says:

Sep 12, 2009 - Hes not going after tort reform because trial lawyers are his 2nd biggest campaign supporter after unions.

ragincaucasian319 Says:

Sep 12, 2009 - I used to work for the UAW and saw first hand how it led to lower productivity. The jobs were the easiest youve ever seen and people were making $28 an hour. My problem with unions is that it drives wages up to the point that businesses cant compete. My biggest problem is when unions get into small businesses (card check) where profit margins are already paper thin.

darmokandgalad Says:

Sep 12, 2009 - I make a lot less money at my union job then I did for non-union work, and I also have to pay union dues so it's a lot less. Secondly, you wrote that small business owners are affected by unions but keep in mind that the owners don't pay for the union, the union members do through dues. The only way owners are affected is that they can't screw over employees anymore or treat them like shit.

0mikr0n Says:

Oct 7, 2009 - Um. Yeah. Uh, people with more money get taxed more, naturally a corporation would pay a lot in taxes. But they're still doing well and thriving. Look at Haliburton! They're kicking ass in the construction business, making millions, but DAMN, they sure are paying a lot of taxes. Poor ol' Haliburton. I feel SO fuggin' bad for them. [/sarcasm] When you say companies pay too much in taxes, you're an idiot. If you're that worried about a deficit, maybe you should have stopped Bush from warring.

RageagainstRacism Says:

Oct 12, 2009 - Yea, the stuff the republicans are saying has been completely absurd, however, requiring that people have health insurance is too far in itself. Providing health care for everyone is different than requiring it, right now, the plan in congress does require you register for health insurance.

Hein122 Says:

Nov 6, 2009 - there are no health police, there are the police and military police. they are dogs of the government. they will do this. cig tax, soda tax. you young turks are shrugging truth off. did you see how many pages? some thousand in a couple days? most didn't read the entire thing.

TSquared2001 Says:

Dec 2, 2009 - This is funny and sobering in the same vein.
